Class 23 A dust separator comprises a vertical air permeable member i co-axially within a revolving member j having apertures or gaps through which the dust may pass freely, an outer casing a, means b for admitting dust laden air to the casing, a dust outlet d from the bottom of the casing, and an air outlet k from one end of the member i. As shown, the members ij are cylindrical and rotated by a shaft e. The air outlet k is an imperforate extension of the cylinder i and discharges into a chamber having an outlet c. The outlet k may have a lesser diameter than the cylinder i, which may contain radial vanes fixed to the shaft. The dust outlet has a rotary valve n, and in a modification is offset from the casing.
