Apparatus for supervising the relative positioning of the pusher machines and coke-guide machines of horizontal coke-oven batteries

In a horizontal coke-oven battery having a coke-pusher machine on one side and a cokeguide machine on the other a telephone link extends between the two machines to enable the operators to communicate with one another verbally. The telephone link may comprise a radio transmitter and a radio receiver on each machine, preferably operating on a frequencymodulated V.H.F. system, and a signalling device may be fitted on each machine, when the radio transmitters and receivers are furnished with two channels, one carrying speech and the other carrying signalling impulses. Where the machines are provided with electrically-operated signalling devices for indicating the relative positions of the machines, the telephone link may comprise a transmitter and a receiver on each machine connected to the electric circuit carrying signalling impulses between said signalling devices, and at each end is arranged means for segregating signalling impulses and speech currents and for feeding these respectively to the signalling devices and the receivers. The transmitters and signalling devices impress modulated carrier oscillations of different frequencies on the circuit, appropriate electrical filter circuits being employed to segregate the signalling impulses and speech currents.
