Class 38 (5) A contact arrangement particularly for a mechanically-driven rectifier in which a roller contact runs over a circular contact path has means whereby the centrifugal force urging the roller against the path may be varied. As shown, a roller 1 carried by a lever 4 pivotally connected at 5 to a lever 6 rotated by a drive shaft 7, engages a contact path 2, the contact pressure being variable by weights 9, 10 comprised by nuts threaded on an extension 8 of the lever 4. A further roller 1SP1/SP and associated parts may be provided. In an alternative arrangement the weights 9, 10 are mounted on the same end of the lever 4 as the roller was to increase the contact pressure. Further, the roller 1 may run on the outer surface of a circular contact path.
