[Also in Group XVI] A copy-holder comprises a stand having a substantially flat supporting surface, a marker directly manually movable over the surface, and controlling means located behind the surface and connected to opposite ends of the marker for maintaining the latter at right-angles across the surface, and the marker can be moved away from the surface for the insertion and removal of papers. Papers, notebooks, &c. are secured on an inclined support 1 of sheet metal by means of a spring clip member 5, Fig. 1, having grippers 5b and a finger piece 5d for manual release. In another form, Fig. 4, sheets 28 are secured in laterally staggered relationship by passing perforations therein over pegs 24b projecting from a strip, and placing a second perforated strip 24c thereover, the assembly then being inserted by means of end lugs 24e, either way up, into brackets 26 on the frame.
