744,393. Wearing-apparel. TRAVERS, Ltd., S. Aug. 24, 1954 [Sept. 28, 1953], No. 26635/53. Class 141. A blouse-like garment opens down the front or back, according to which way round it is worn, and has a neck part cut to a shallow elongated curve, the edges on either side of the opening being shaped to extend across and partly round the body from opposite ends of the neck, and tying ribbons being provided on the lowermost end of each side edge for attachment round the waist, whereby the overlap of the side edges can be varied to produce high or low necklines at the front or back. The garment comprises a large panel 5, Fig. 2, constituting the back (or front), shaped to provide the neckline 2 and parts of the sleeves 4. Smaller panels 6 are seamed at 7 to the panel 5 to complete the garment. The edges 6a join the waistband 3 at an acute angle, and ribbons 10 form extensions of the waistband. The panel 5 has a horizontal dart 8 and small box pleats adjoining each shoulder. The garment may be of a woollen or part-woollen material known as jersey cloth. The garment may be worn with the opening at the front and the sides overlapped to produce a low neckline, Fig. 5, or further overlapped to produce a high neckline, or with the opening at the back and arranged off the shoulder, Fig. 7, or to produce a higher U-shaped neckline, or clasps can be attached to produce a square neckline.
