[Also in Group XVII] A carton for a bulb glass is adapted to act as an indicator as to when the bulb, partially grown in the carton, shall be exposed to daylight. The carton comprises two portions one having a hole 9 and being set at or adjustable to a predetermined distance above the edge of the bulb glass 2, so that the bud of the bulb will reach the hole 9 to indicate when the bulb and glass shall be removed to daylight. The carton may be of such a length as to space the hole 9 the correct distance above the glass 2, a collar (not shown) between the glass and top 6 positioning the glass for transport as shown. Alternatively the hole 9 may be in a portion telescoping into the lower part of the carton for transport and being partially withdrawn for growing the bulb. Marks may indicate suitable positions to which the portion should be withdrawn or tongues may be provided to hold it at the required distance. A distance collar may be supplied to fit between the telescoping portion and the glass rim, inside the carton.
