A spraying device for use in cooling towers for the production of granular materials comprises a body 2 in which are mounted nozzles 8 fed with hot spray material from a chamber 12, and heating medium passes through longitudinal channels 11 in the body. Hot spray material and heating medium are fed to the device through inlets 6 and 7 respectively in an end block 1 and the heating medium leaves from an outlet in an end block 3. The supply to each nozzle is controlled by a manually adjustable valve stem 13.
