Class 28(2) Pairs of co-operating segmental. grippers 23, 26 are mounted in a rotated hub 12, each of the segments 26 being rocked, when at gripping position, by a cam 45 about its pivot 25, toward the other segment 23 to grip and pull out the feathers of poultry. Several pairs of grippers are spaced longitudinally along the hub 12, a central fixed gripper 22 being provided for co-operation with a moving gripper at each of its ends. A cam roller 51 operates the moving grippers on the left. side of 22, the other cam roller 45 operating the moving grippers on the right side. These cam rollers 45 and 51 operate slides 47 and 52 respectively, sliding in the hub construction. The gripper device is mounted on a stand 9. the feathers being blown by a blower 65 down a duct 62 to a bag 63.
