[Also in Group XXVI] A magnesium or aluminium alloy housing 16 interconnects a lighting dynamo driven-end housing 15 and the housing 23 of a cooling- water pump impeller 21 mounted on the other end of the dynamo shaft 12 adjacent its commutator-end bearing which is disposed in a light-metal end plate 11 supported in the housing 16. The plate 11 and its opposed lightmetal end plate 10 each have a lug 39 for attachment of the unit to a motor vehicle engine. Water penetration to the dynamo is prevented by a spring-loaded elasticallymounted rubbing ring 28 and by a throw-off ring 22 co-acting with openings 40. There are ventilation apertures 41.
