Class 20(2) Centering for arches comprises two trusses 10, 11 pivoted on piers 12, 13 and connected together by levers 18, 19 connected by a pivot 17 and pivoted to the trusses 10, 11 by pivots 20, 21 respectively about which the levers are rocked by screw jacks 22 to withdraw the trusses from the arch when it no longer requires support. A number of pairs of parallel trusses may be used pivoted on beams 16 on the piers and connected by beams 30. Piers 35 through trusses and levers relieve the jacks of stress while the arch is under construction.
