[Class 143] In a spring weighing scale of the kind in which displacement of the platform is guided by a ball or roller 3 located between a pair of inclined surfaces 4, 5, the ball is retained in its correct position relative to the two surfaces by a stop member 15 secured to the middle of each of a pair of links 16, 17 which are each pivoted at one end to a fixed part of the scale and at the other to the platform so that said stop has substantially the same locus as the ball during weighing movements of the scale. The platform 1 is supported on three pairs of co-operating inclined surfaces at A, B and C, and a pair of springs 12 constitute the load counterbalancing means. Displacements of the platform are communicated by a platform member 14, a push rod 32, a lever 27 pivoted at 28, a spring urged rack 24 and a pinion 23 to a spindle 21 carrying a calibrated disc which is viewed through a slot in the platform. A screw 36 is provided for zeroizing.
