Class 9 (2) An armament-firing control system comprises an electrically driven switch 12 for supplying pulses to fire projectiles, a second electrically driven switch 11 supplying pulses to drive the first switch and a manual control 13 for the electrical supply to this second switch. The control system is suitable for use on an aircraft and includes provision for bomb release. To fire one, two or three pairs of projectiles the switch 13 is set to cover one, two or three contacts 16, then, if a master switch 22 is closed, a button 30 is pressed to fire the selected number of projectiles. Button 30 causes contacts 26 to latch closed, causing a motor 35, 36 to rotate the switch 11 once thereby delivering the selected number of pulses through contacts 17, 16 to drive the firing switch 12 by a solenoid 41, and at the same time delivering pulses to the projectiles associated with each contact closed by the switch 12. After one revolution of the switch 11 the latch contacts 26 are opened by a coil 28 unless the button 30 is still depressed, in which case the coil 35 remains energized, thereby halting the switch unless a switch 46, normally closed, is open to permit continuous fire. A switch 47, rotating With 12, returns the latter to zero position when a button 54 is pressed. A further switch 60, anually rotated with 13, provides positions opposite contacts 71, 72 for closing a practice bomb circuit or for releasing a bomb, when button 30 is closed.
