Relates to fastening devices of the type in which a tongue 25 pivotally mounted between spaced side walls 11, 12 of body 10 may be turned about its pivot against spring loading from a position in which it lies within the space into a position in which it projects laterally from the body. According to the invention, the tongue 25 is formed as a non-metallic plastic moulding complete with bearing journals or trunnions 27 to fit bearing apertures 26 in the side walls of the body of the fastener. As shown the trunnions 27 are apertured for the passage of a key (not shown). Alternatively the tongue may include an integral handle or key which projects from one of the apertures' 26. The tongue is loaded by springs 23 located between an end wall of the body and a thimble 22 which bears against the tongue.
