[Also in Group XIII] In a hot-water boiler (see Group XIII), gases from a combustion chamber 14 pass up to an outlet 29 and a chimney connection 32 over a casting comprising horizontal, finned, water pipes 24 interconnecting two vertical ducts, Fig. 2 (not shown). The gases are confined to flow over the pipes 24 by two opposed side plates 20 and flow sinuously because of longitudinal baffles 27 on the pipes. Lugs 40 on the side plates receive the edges of the baffles.
