[Also in Group XIX] A counting device for use in knitting comprising individually rotatable coaxially assembled numeral bearing sleeve parts 11, 12 which in combination with a further sleeve 10 enable selected numerals to be displayed, is characterised in that the sleeve parts are coaxially assembled on a tubular spigot 8 of thermoplastic material, the spigot 8 being integral with a member 13 secured by adhesive in an annular groove 19 of the sleeve part 11 and so constructed that a portion 14 of the sleeve part 12 is rotatable thereon and bears against a shoulder 25. The elements 11, 12, 13, 14, 8 are fabricated of a thermoplastic material and are secured together by threading the assembled device on to a mandrel 26 provided with a thin metal plate 28 which is heated by a hot plate (not shown) so that a projecting end of the spigot 8 is turned outward into an annular recess 21 thereby forming a retaining flange for the sleeve part 12.
