871,414. Fishing sinkers and lures. SCOTT, G. ST. Q. April 22, 1959 [April 22, 1958; Feb. 2, 1959], No. 13730/59. Class 48. A sinker is of elongated flat form and the front oblique end is shod with a rubber buffer 4. The fishing line is attached to an eye 8 fixed to the top side of the sinker and when the sinker is drawn through the water the rubber buffer 4 acts as a hydroplane. The rubber buffer projects forwardly beyond the front edge of the sinker body and is secured thereto by two tubular rivets 5 or by bolts. The rear end of the sinker is formed as a fin 2. If the rubber buffer is removed and hooks attached to the sides and tail of the sinker it can be used as a lure, the two holes 7 for the rivets 5 simulating eyes. The body of the sinker is cast from lead, aluminium or white metal and polished or it is moulded from plastic material. A wire having ends forming the eye 8 for the line and an eye for the attachment of a hook at the fin 2 is embedded in the body of the sinker.
