[Also in Group XXIII] Liquids or liquid suspensions are supplied to a pad applicator 8 by capillary action from a reservoir in which the level of the liquid in the reservoir is at or below the base of the applicator. The pad 8 may be of sponge or felt. The applicator may be in the form of a pen or ball-point pen wherein the supply of liquid is effected and controlled by means of felt or a similar porous material.
