[Also in Group XI] A panel for oven construction with front and back sheet metal walls 10 and 14 respectively separated by insulating material, has peripheral walls 12 formed with staggered slots 13 to reduce heat losses by conduction. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the slots extend across the corners, and the corner insulation comprises a pad of unicellular expanded plastic material. In a further modification, the slotted plates extend only partially across the peripheral walls, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
