A haymaking machine comprises at least one rake-head having tines arranged in groups each consisting of several tines 144, 145 arranged one behind the other in the direction of travel, each group being angularly adjustable about an axis inclined to the plane of rotation of the rake-head. The machine shown has pairs of side-by-side rake-heads 112, 113 and 114, 115 driven in opposite directions and inclined at approximately 45 degrees to the ground. The heads are connected by gearing (not shown), housed within a hollow casing 111, to a common input shaft 123 driven from the propelling tractor. Each rake-head (Fig. 11) comprises tines 144, 145 mounted on a horizontal sleeve 141 freely rotatable about one limb 140 of a U-shaped spoke 137, the other limb 138 of which is secured to a sleeve 129 rotatable relatively to a second sleeve 130 carrying an arm 152 which engages in a fork 151 secured to the tine-carrying sleeve 141. The sleeves 129, 130 are held in any relative position of adjustment by a spring-loaded pin 136 engaging selected holes in a flange 133 on the sleeve 130. Relative movement of the sleeves alters the inclination of the tines 144, 145 to the ground by rotating the sleeve 141 about its axis. Four such sleeves are provided.
