A device for use as a thrust booster for marine propulsion jets comprises a tubular duct 1 provided externally with a plurality of helically deflecting fins 2 of constant pitch and with at least one transverse tube 3 closing one end, the duct 1 being surrounded by an external casing 4 to the outer surface of which the or each tube 3 is fitted flush. Water under pressure is passed through chamber 5 in the direction AQ by a reciprocating or centrifugal pump 8. The pressure drop due to the current of water being eddied by tube 3 and fins 2 includes the flow A of air through the tube 1 which boosts the thrust of the current of water.
