893,412. Branched pipes; supporting pipes. GEWERKSCHAFT EISENHUTTE WESTFALIA. Sept. 15, 1958 [Sept. 26, 1957], No. 29527/58. Classes 99(1) and 99(2). A pressure medium is supplied to a mobile consumption source, e.g. to a machine (not shown), which is moved along a coal face for the automatic winning and/or loading of coal, by a rubber or elastomeric plastic hose 10, Figs. 1 and 3, having a longitudinal slit 11 provided with a sliding closure and opened along its length over a short portion to which a tapping pipe 17 is sealingly connected. As shown, the slit 11 is bounded by profiled edges 12, 13 and is closed by an elastic covering strip 14, of claw-like cross-section and having built in elastic elements, which engage behind the edges. The tapping pipe 17 comprises a T-piece movable along the hose 10 and the cross-pipes 18 of which have tapered ends 19 and elastic sealing lips 20 which bear against the inner wall of the hose 10. The T-piece opens into pipes 21, Fig. 2, to which hoses are connected. A slidable wedge-shaped bar 22 tapered at its ends and carried on the T-piece opens out the edges of the strip 14 and lifts them away from the sealing edges 12, 13. Rollers 23, 24 carried by the T-piece serve to close the slit 11. The T-piece may surround the hose 10 and the slit 11 when closed may be covered by a unilaterally secured apron-like sealing lip. The hose is provided with eyes 25 by means of which it may be suspended.
