In a water-cooled door frame for a Siemens Martin open-hearth furnace as disclosed in the parent Specification, water entering through tube 1, 1SP1/SP flows upwardly in the tubes 4, 4SP1/SP nearest the door opening to discharge pipes at the top. As in the above Specification, the lintel comprises a series of tubes arranged in U-shaped formation, the tube row 5 nearest the door opening being at the end of the cooling circuit.
