[Also in Division B6] In a machine for screen-printing threads warp threads F, Fig. 1, pass from a warp beam, through a comb 17 and over rollers 8 to 11, 10SP1/SP, 12, 13 and 18 to a moving endless belt T. The belt is sized from a glue container 15SP1/SP by a roller 15 and a brush 16 whilst the printing of the threads is effected by a plurality of vertically movable frames C incorporating screens CSP1/SP and reciprocable squeegee blades R. The sized and printed threads leaving the machine enter a drying chamber 20 prior to passing to a warp-receiving beam 40 over rollers 22 to 28 and vertically movable combs 29 and 35. The thread path also includes combs 19 and 21 and the rollers 11 and 26 are vertically and freely movable under weights PSP1/SP thereby apply a constant tension to the threads. The warp beams 1 and 40 may be an adjustable distance apart whilst the combs 29 and 35, Fig. 12, co-operate with one another to guide the printed and dried threads on to the beam 40. The ends of the comb 29 are fixed to two vertical rods 31, Fig. 13, simultaneously controlled by two eccentric members 32 secured to a control spindle 33. A supporting bar carrying the comb 29 connects the rods 31 and is held at a predetermined height in accordance with the position of member 32. Rotation of spindle 33 via a hard crank moves the comb vertically. The comb 35 has a plurality of parallel sections constituting a lazy tongs device, the rotation of a hand-operated crank enabling the angle of the comb sections to be altered to produce modifications in the transverse spacing of the threads. By lowering the combs 29 and 35, thread knots are allowed to pass to the beam 40 unhindered.
