[Also in Division F2] The roller bearings 30, 32 supporting each end of an endless track roller 20 are preloaded by a bolt 46 passing through the roller. The inner races of the bearings are both mounted on shouldered ends of the roller 20 while the outer races are mounted in housings 26, 28 secured to the track frame 6, 8, the outer race of bearing 30 engaging a spider 40 within housing 26 and outer race 36 of bearing 32 engaging a shoulder in housing 28. Bolt 46 engages housing 28 and spider 40 to maintain a constant preload on the bearings as the track frame flexes and bearing 30 moves axially in housing 26. In an alternative (Fig. 4, not shown) both ends of the roller 20 are mounted as shown in the right hand half of Fig. 3.
