摘要
Epoxide resins are cured with conventional curing agents in the presence of an ester of a phenol having from one to thirty carbon atoms per phenolic hydroxyl group and a carboxylic acid having one to twenty-four carbon atoms per carboxylic acid group. Lists of suitable phenols and carboxylic acids and curing agents are given. Preferred curing agents are polyvalent metal salts of organic acids which may be used in conjunction with organic phosphites as curing assistants. The compositions may include conventional additives, e.g. solvents, pigments, fillers, dyes, plasticizers or other resins. Examples are combinations of the following: Epoxy resins.-A condensate of 2,2-bis-4 -hydroxyphenyl) propane with epichlorohydrin. Curing agents.-Diethylene triamine; methyl nadic anhydride; zinc 2-ethyl hexoate or zinc octoate, with isooctyl diphenyl phosphite; phthalic anhydride; hexahydrophthalic anhydride; dodecenyl succinic anhydride. Curing catalysts.-Benzyl dimethylamine; N, N-diethylaniline. Phenol esters.-Bisphenol A ester or phenol ester of epoxidized tall oil fatty acids; phenyl oleate; nonyl phenyl benzoate; diphenyl phthalate; phenyl tollate; bisphenol A ester of tall oil fatty acids; diphenyl ester of dimerized linoleic acid triphenyl ester of trimerized linoleic acid.
