[Also in Group XXV] A member 2 carrying a ploughing unit A is pivoted at 4 to the ploughbeam 1 and is wedged between a pair of stops 8, 9 on the beam by means of a spring-biased detent comprising two tangentially touching rollers 7a, 7b one of which bears against a ramp formed on the stop 9 while the other bears against the member 2 to hold it in contact with the stop 8. The rollers are carried by a push-rod 5 slidable in guides 2a on the member 2 under the action of a coil spring 6. When the forces tending to turn the member 2 relative to the beam 1 exceed a predetermined limit, e.g. when the ploughshare strikes an obstruction, the roller 7a rides up the ramp against the action of the spring 6 and the member 2 rotates in the anti-clockwise direction. In a modification the detent is fitted on the beam 1 and the stops are carried by the member 2.
