In a trunk-dialling system in which a destination code number is arranged to be converted into different zone-characterizing metering signals in combination with criteria characterizing the origin of a call in registers Sp1, Sp2 and translating devices UmW located at a central exchange KA, the arrangement is such that when the code number determining the destination centre is fed from a register Sp1 or Sp2 into a common translator UmW, a criterion is simultaneously transmitted from the register to the translator through the metering impulse sender ZJG1, ZJG2, or ZJG3 associated with the call and through the selector IGWA, MWB, or MWC by which the metering impulse sender is seized (and, as shown, through a corresponding marking lead Ya, Yb, or Yc, respectively), which criterion pertains to the selector group accessible from the centre originating the call, which may be the central exchange KA or a terminal exchange such as EAB or EAC. Evaluation of the metering rate thereby takes into account both the destination code number and the place of origin of the call, preventing overcharging for calls between adjacent terminal exchanges which happen to be connected to different central exchanges.
