An endless length of fabric, e.g. a wire-cloth for a paper-making machine, is packed for transportation using two rollers 1, 2 and a third roller 3 of larger diameter than the rollers 1, 2 with the roller 2 being located in a longitudinal groove 4 in the roller 3 to present a substantially cylindrical surface in conjunction therewith and around which the fabric is wound, the roller 1 being inserted between the plies of the fabric to retain the final bight thereof and secured to the rollers 2, 3 by a device 9. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, the rollers 1, 2 are inserted between the plies of the cloth 7, the roller 2 is positioned in the groove 4 and the cloth wound therearound. In a second embodiment, Fig. 2, the rollers 1, 3 are inserted between the plies, the roller 2 is located in the groove 4 to hold the cloth therein and the cloth is wound therearound.
