An anchoring device for a mine conveyer comprises a pair of clamping beams 3, 3a, each formed from a centre portion 3SP11/SP pivoted about horizontal axes to end portions 3SP1/SP, 3111, and a pair of cross-members 4 secured between adjacent end portions and provided with hydraulic props 7. The beams 3, 3a are connected to the conveyer 1 by a pivot 2 and a pin-and-slot connection 13. A clamping beam 5 provided with props 6 is connected to the beams 3, 3a by an hydraulic ram 8, for advancing the conveyer and the anchoring device, and by springs 9. A second identical anchoring device 10 is connected to the first device by resilient and/or hingedly movable elements 11, and apparatus 12 for operating the hydraulic system is slidable on the floor and connected to both devices.
