In a roof construction comprising purlins supporting a corrugated roof, sheets or panels are supported below the roof by securing members which fit into spaces between roof corrugations and the purlins, and support members which are connected to the securing members and extend beneath the edges of the sheets or panels. In Figs. 1 and 4, the securing member comprises a metal base plate 3 with a resilient extension 4 fitting within the corrugation 6, and the support member comprises two strips 2 of wood, Fig. 1, or metal, Fig. 4, screwed to the edges of the plate 3 which project beyond the edges of the purlin 5. Collars 9 on the screws 8 space the supports 2 from the base plate to accommodate the edges of panels 11 of expanded plastics etc. T-bars 15 may be supported by members 2 on adjacent purlins so as to support the length of the edge of the panel. In a second embodiment, Fig. 7, the base plate has a downwardly directed flange 14 with a channel 15 at its lower end for engagement with a similar channel at the upper end of the vertical limb 17 of the T-shaped support member 2. T-bars 19 may extend between adjacent support members. In a modification, Fig. 9 (not shown) the flange 14 and T-shaped member are formed integrally and the foot of the T-shaped member carries a rail for supporting the edges of panels and optional T-bars. In further modifications the lower end of the securing member may extend below the panels 11 and the support member may comprise a bar inserted through an opening in the securing member or an arm pivotally secured to the securing members so as to extend beneath the panels 11. The curved extension 4 may be replaced by a toothed flange.
