964,365. Printing apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG A.G. Jan. 31, 1962 [Feb. 11, 1961], No. 3653/62. Heading B6C. A two-revolution cylinder printing machine in which the impression cylinder is lowered on to a printing forme by means including a cam disc and is raised thereby after printing during the return of the carriage supporting the forme, is provided with a further cam disc arranged to lower the impression cylinder during passage of a chain pick-up carrier 2 for printed sheets to a position near but out of contact with the forme for idling or trial paper run purposes and to subsequently lift the cylinder. The first cam disc moves the impression cylinder to the printing position 1SP1/SP and then lifts it to the position 1, the printed sheet being delivered to the device 2 at an intermediate position 1SP11/SP at which point the impression cylinder is tangential to the delivery path. To test the run of the paper &c. the cylinder is lowered on alternate revolutions by the further cam disc to the position 1SP11/SP to permit the transfer of the paper to the device 2 and is then lifted.
