Relates to compounds having the general formula FORM:0876508/IV (b)/1 wherein R is an alkyl, aralkyl or aryl group such as 6-(Di-n-butylphosphoramido), 6-(dibenzylphosphoramido), 6-diphenylphosphoramido) and 6-(diethylphosphoramido) penicillanic acid, and their non-toxic salts. The compounds may be prepared by reacting a chlorophosphate of the general formula (RO)2-PO-Cl with 6-aminopenicillanic acid or a liquor containing 6-aminopenicillanic acid.
