Temperature compensation of a microwave ferrite device, e.g. an isolator, phase-shifter or magnetically controlled resonator, is achieved by providing, in addition to the usual ferrite element, one or more further elements whose cross-sectional dimensions are such that the elements exhibit temperature characteristics opposite to and compensating for the characteristics of the main element. The invention finds application in devices where the shape of the main ferrite element and the strength of the magnetic field are prescribed by considerations other than the elimination of temperature dependence. The additional elements are chosen to provide a temperature deviation equal and opposite to that of the main element at the prescribed field strength.
