A process and machine for the isothermal extrusion of soap and similar material

[Also in Division B5] Soap or similar material is isothermically worked in the solid state in successive mixing stages spaced between axial transference stages with helical conduits having temperature controlled walls and finally extruded in the form of a continuous bar. In the machine illustrated for carrying out the process the product to be worked is introduced into helical conduit 36 by worm 2 from feed hopper 11 mounted on stator 3. After passing screen 29 and through the teeth of fixed wheel 23 the product is mixed in annular cavity 24 by blades 26 mounted on toothed wheel 27 fixed to rotor 1. The product then passes along conduit 36 to a succeeding similar mixing stage, and so on, being finally extruded through die 36SP1/SP, on head 34, in the form of a continuous bar. Liquids for temperature control are circulated through chambers 4 and 7.
