Improvements in or relating to toilet preparations containing amino acids

Toilet preparations containing one or more amino acids dissolved in ethanolic solution containing not more than 10% by weight of water are stabilized by dissolving in the ethanol solution one or more esters of amino acids and/or hydrochlorides of the esters, the said esters being alkyl esters of a -amino-acids, alkyl esters of dicarboxylic amino acids and alkyl esters of sulphur-containing amino acids. The ethanol solution may also contain sorbital. A stock solution contains dimethylester of cystine, ethyl ester of glycine, diethyl ester of glutamic acid, l-serine, benzyl taurine, l-histidine, l-tyrosine, l-aspartic acid, l-lysine, l-cystine, l-glutamic acid, glycine, l-arginine, l-glutamine and taurine in 95% ethanol. The toilet preparation may be a hair cream, hair tonic, pomade, skin lotion, cream or emulsion.
