The invention comprises compounds of the general formula FORM:1022939/C2/1 wherein X1, X2, X3, X4, X5 and X6 are fluorine or chlorine, at least two of them being fluorine, R is hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl and R1 is hydrogen, C1-4 alkyl, -CONH2, halophenyl, alkoxyphenyl, alkylphenyl, nitrophenyl or alkylthiophenyl, the alkyl radical present in the substituted phenyl radicals containing 1-4 carbon atoms, with the proviso that when R1 is -CONH2 or substituted phenyl R is hydrogen. The compounds are prepared by reacting together in solution a compound of the formula (X1X2X3C)(X4X5X6C)CO and a compound of the formula H2N-CO-NRR1. Specified liquid diluents are hydrocarbon solvents such as fuel oils and petroleum naphthas, and acetone. Specified solid diluents are diatomaceous earth, wood flours and silica gels. Conventional wetting, dispensing and emulsifying agents may also be present. Examples are given.
