Herbicidal compositions including carbohydrate pentafluorochloroacétone and hexafluoroacetone and their use

Herbicidal compositions comprise a dispersion medium and the trihydrate or monohydrate of pentafluorochloroacetone or hexafluoroacetone. The dispersion medium is preferably an aqueous liquid or a pulverulent solid, and the composition may additionally contain a surface-active agent. These hydrates, either alone or in admixture with a dispersion medium, may be used to inhibit the growth of, or to destroy, vegetation by applying these hydrates to said vegetation, or to the locus in which said vegetation is growing or is to be grown.
