An armoured vehicle is provided with a rotatable turret 2 mounted on a roller track 3 and fitted with an automatic gun 4. The automatic gun is fed through a feed mechanism 5 with belted ammunition stored in an ammunition box 8 1 . The ammunition box 8 1 , is housed in a guide 9, rotatable with the turret and able to house at least one other ammunition box 8 2 , the last-mentioned ammunition box being held out of engagement with the first mentioned by means of a manually actuatable pawl (Fig. 3, not shown). The first mentioned box 8 1 , is held in the firing position also by a spring loaded pawl and also, in the heightwise sense by pivoting spring loaded rail sections 14b (Fig. 5, not shown) which in their locked holding positions co-operate with flanges attached to the sides of the ammunition box. When the ammunition box 8 1 is empty the rail sections 14b are freed by manually actuating a lever which operates a spring loaded locking bar co-operating with each rail section, and the ammunition box 81, is fed, by gravity into an open-sided lower compartment 9a of the guide 9. The pawl cooperating with the ammunition box 8 2 in the waiting position is then actuated and the box allowed to slide into the firing position, the belted ammunition in box 8 2 having been joined to the end of the belt of the ammunition in box 8 1 .
