[Also in Division B4] A scribing, drawing and cutting instrument comprises a horizontal beam 10 vertically hinged at one end to a twowheel carriage 1, and at the other end provided with vertically housed bearings 18 carrying a swivelling tool-holder 20 which has a caster action. Counterbalance weights 7 are provided for setting the vertical loading force required at the tool. A handle 22 is provided for moving the tool laterally. Fig. 2 (not shown) illustrates a nib arrangement for drawing parallel lines, the spacing of which can be adjusted. The nibs can be replaced by scribing tools.
