[Also in Divisions H1 and H2] In the washing machine programme control circuit described in Specification 1,017,791 the connections between the coin sensing photocells and the accumulated coin indicating relays, and the connections between the contacts of these relays and the relays which indicate the programme appropriate to the accumulated coins, are made by way of a printed circuit board which plugs into a contact strip on which all the terminals are represented. The contact strip comprises a U- section member containing the terminals in the form of conductive clips. On the printed circuit board horizontally printed bars on one side provide conductors for the relay windings and cross connections between contacts while the other side of the board has vertically printed bars providing conductors for the relay contacts. By drilling through the circuit board at the intersections of horizontal and vertical conductors solder plugs are inserted to make the circuit connections. The horizontal conductors for the relay windings are cranked through a right angle to connect with terminal portions along a horizontal edge of the board, terminal portions also being provided along the same edge for the vertical conductors. The position of the terminal portions along the edge of the printed circuit board match the contact clips on the contact strip so that the board is plugged into the strip edgewise to be incorporated in the circuit. If it is necessary to change the price structure of the washing machine it is merely necessary to replace one printed circuit board by another.
