[Also in Division F2] Rubber bodies for spring units (see Division F2) are moulded by a press having two continuously refrigerated press plates adapted to coact and squeeze the bodies of elastomer into a predetermined deformed shape and at the same time to cool them in said deformed shape to below the second order transition temperature which freezes the bodies rigidly in said deformed shape. The faces of the platens may be provided with removable liners in the form of thin foil sheets to avoid premature cooling of the rubber body and to prevent the rubber sticking to the platen.
