[Also in Division B6] Toggle-operated pliers for applying an ear tag to the ear of an animal comprise jaws 11, 12, each having a planar surface on which the ear tag members 17, 20 are retained by leafsprings 21, (22) anchored as at 24 to the head of the pliers. The jaw 11 has two aligned holes 13 which receive the projecting rear ends of pins 16 provided on the male member 17. The conical ends 18 of the pins 16 are adapted to pass through aligned clearance holes 15 provided in the female tag member 20 positioned on the jaw 12. The jaw 12 has a centre hole which receives a single locating pin or stud on the tag member 17.
