Process for treating slag obtained by basic steel-producing methods

Slag obtained from an open hearth, electric-arc, LD converter or Kaldo furnace in the steel basic process has a mineral containing mainly alumina or silica and alumina added during tapping. In the latter case the alumina content is at least 8 times that of the silica.
