1,075,041. Shearing. SCHLOEMANN A.G. Jan. 5, 1966 [Jan. 26, 1965], No. 448/66. Heading B3W. In a crank-operated reciprocating blade shear, each of the blades is mounted in a blade holder which is clamped to the frame or moving beam of the shear by spring-loaded wedges. Fig. 2 shows a plan view of the lower stationary cutter and its mounting and a section through the upper movable cutter and its mounting, which is similar. Only the upper cutter mounting will be described. The cutter blade 6 is secured to a bladeholder 7 which has projecting hooks 15 on its back face. The hooks pass through apertures in the movable beam 5 and into the spaces formed between the hook ends and the rear wall of the beam, are inserted wedges 19. The inner faces of the hooks are inclined at the same angle as the wedges and there are plates 23 fastened to the beam which have a similar angle of inclination. The wedges 19 are secured to a rod 17 which is supported in lugs 26SP1/SP formed on the beam and which also act as abutments for springs 25 which bias the rod to the left. Excessive movement of the rod to the left is prevented by a cover-plate 27SP1/SP secured to the side of the beam and which is engaged by a cap 33 on the end of the rod. To disengage the wedges the rod is aligned with an hydraulic cylinder 29 which moves the rod to the right against the springs.
