A process for preparing a composition of forstovningstorret Fumaria officinalis.

A spray dried product of Fumaria having antispasmodic and other therapeutic activity is obtained by extracting plants of one or more of the species Fumaria grandiflora, Fumaria parviflora, Fumaria officinalis and Fumaria vaillantii by means of an aqueous solvent, the extraction being effected at a temperature in the vicinity of the boiling point of the solvent, homogenising the decoction so formed, and projecting the material at a temperature between room temperature and 70 DEG C. under pressure to obtain the desired product in the form of a fine powder. Preferably, plants in flower are used and these, preferably, are dried prior to extraction. The spray dried product may be used in the form of cachets, capsules and tablets.
