Biocidal compositions comprise a compound where Z=oxygen or suliphur, X=halide or thiocyonate, R is alkyl, vinyl, benzyl or aryl which may contain chlorine or methoxy substituents and R1, R2 and R3 may be any of a large number of radicals (see Specification) which may contain P, N, O, S and Cl atoms as well as C and H atoms, in association with a carrier, extender or diluent. The composition may be in the form of a solution, suspension, aerosol, emulsion, dusting powder, wettable powder or paste containing up to 50% of the above compound.
