Insulating sleeves 3 of mica tape wound on electric winding bars 2 are impregnated under vacuum with resin, which is then cured, while the sleeve-bear elements are situated in slots 1 in a laminated stator assembly. The stator assembly is inserted in the resin and curing is restricted to impregnated resin by passage of current through the bars or the presence of catalyst in the sleeves. The slots may contain anti-adhesion foil or have a lacquer coating to enable removal of the treated sleeve-bar elements from the assembly. Known resins and catalysts are specified.
