Pesticidal compositions comprise a substituted pyridine compounds of the formula I, wherein R is a C 1-18 alkyl radical, optionally substituted by fluorine, chlorine and/or R 1 , a benzyl or phenylethyl radical, optionally nuclearly substituted 'by cyano, halo, nitro, -OR 2 , -COOR 2 and/or R 2 or a cyclopentyl or cyclohexyl radical, R 1 being cyano, -COOR 2 , C 1-4 alkaxy or C 1-4 alkylthio and R 2 being C 1-4 alkyl, together with a solid or liquid carrier or diluent. The compositions, which may also contain other pesticides, e.g. copper-containing fungicides, sulphur-containing fungicides, mercury containing fungicides, tin-containing fungicides and organic fungicides, many of each class being specified, and/ or antibiotics, may be in the form of spraying or dusting agents, seed-dressing agents, solutions, emulsions and aerosols.
