摘要
A check-out counter has customer's goods from a basket placed on conveyer 13, Fig. 1, leading to a table 14 from where they are checked and loaded into an adjacent container 16, or 16 Bel, Fig. 2, by a cashier 12 seated at 11 in front of cash register 10. Container 16 Bel is lowered vertically to standby positions 16y, 16z, and when an unloaded container, 16 E1 or 16 E2 has been shifted to the loading position at 16 Bel, the loaded container moves up into one of the positions 16 E1, 16 E2 where it is unloaded by customers at 18, 19, the unloading positions for the standing customers being higher than the loading position for the seated cashier. The containers 26, Fig. 4, have upper side fins 27 engaging in tracks 32, 34, 39 and are entrained by pushers or pullers 29 on a flexible toothed or slotted bands or a link chain, e.g. 28, to move them to their selected position. A large container 16 Bel, Fig. 4, may be moved horizontally in step by pusher 49a to allow the cashier to load the rear, middle and forward portions in turn. The continuous band 28 then lowers the container to a junction position 38 where it is transferred to separate tracks 32, 34. The bands are driven by sprockets 30, 33, 35 around guide wheels 53. The front container wall 20 may be lowered against a spring to allow the container to pass under table 14. Several in-line aggregate arrangements of pairs of counters are shown, and one or two unloading positions with different numbers of containers may be used.
