Novel compounds of formula FORM:1111706/C2/1 in which R1 is a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical, R11 is a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical or an alkoxy radical, R111 is an alkyl radical, Z is a methano or ethano bridge, m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and n is 0, 1 or 2 are prepared by reacting the appropriate bicyclically substituted amine with a sulphamic acid chloride of formula ClO2S-NR11R111, or by reacting an appropriate bicyclically substituted sulphamic acid chloride with an amine of formula HNR11R111. The bicyclically substituted sulphamic acid chlorides are prepared from the bicyclically substituted amines, e.g. by reaction with sulphuryl chloride. N - [(2 - methyl - 2 - bicyclo[2,2,1]heptylmethyl)-methyl]amine is prepared by monomethylation of N - [2 - methyl - 2 - bicyclo[2,2,1]heptylmethyl]-amine which is obtained by hydrogenation of the Diels-Alder addition product of methacrylonitrile with cyclopentadiene.ALSO:Insect- and mite-repellent compositions which are applied to or around an object from which mites and/or insects are to be repelled, comprise as active ingredient a compound of formula FORM:1111706/A5-A6/1 in which R1 is a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical, R11 is a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical or alkoxy group, R111 is an alkyl group, m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, n is 0, 1 or 2 and Z is a methano or ethano bridge. The active compounds or compositions thereof may be applied to human or animal skin, to clothing or other articles or to food, or they may be applied to areas around the materials to be protected, thus creating inhibition zones.
